Sunday Spotlight - Lisa Oliver and Fagin's Folly

Welcome Lisa Oliver back to Sunday Spotlight! She's sharing a bit from her new release, Fagin's Folly, Alpha and Omega Series, 6

***

Fagin Mars, alpha-heir of his father's pack, had two possible life paths. On the one hand, he could do what his father demanded; mate with a female wolf shifter and take over the pack or...something else entirely. Fagin was opting for option two. After a terse exchange with his father, Fagin gets permission to go on a road trip for thirty days. He wants to find his true mate. It shouldn't be that hard, should it?

Cooper Samuels stayed well away from wolf packs. As an omega, he knew the terrors he'd have to face if he ever got caught in pack territory. Which is why he worked for a human accounting services firm and never told anyone about the furry side of his nature. That was, until he went to meet a prospective new client as a biker bar called Fagin's Folly. He should've known his life was going to change the moment someone barrelled into him and knocked him over.

But just because the Fates stepped in and put these two men on the same path, didn't mean the journey was going to be easy. Things aren't all as they seem in Fagin's home pack and things turn nasty after a night on the town. Kidnappings, challenges and the archaic notions many shifters believed about omega wolves was enough for Fagin to consider handcuffs and not the kinky kind. Will Fagin have to give up his mate so soon after finding him, just to ensure his mate's safety?

Like all of the books in the Alpha and Omega series, this can be read as a standalone and has no connections to the others in this series. Contains some violence, an Omega who quickly finds his backbone and an Alpha wolf who realizes love is worth any sacrifice. M/M, HEA, No cliffhangers.

Excerpt

Crap-sticks. Cooper was alone in a surprisingly clean office big enough for a cluttered desk and three chairs, and a guy whose scent was making it difficult to concentrate. The guy was a wolf shifter and suddenly Cooper was aware of how vulnerable he was.

“I didn’t want to cause any trouble by coming here. I wasn’t aware this place was owned by wolves,” he said quickly. “My boss sent me because the call said you needed an accountant to help file your taxes. I can call someone else to come in,” he indicated the door as he edged towards it. “I don’t expect you to work with me and as you said, you’re going on a trip, so I can just see myself out and tell my boss to call you?”

“Where do you think you’re going little omega?”

Gulp. Was it too much to hope he wouldn’t notice that annoying little fact? Cooper studied his feet. Meeting the man-wolf’s eyes was not advisable. “Leaving? Removing myself from your presence as I’m sure it offends you? I just want to get out of here because I’ve no desire to get my head bashed in, or worse.” Now would be a really good time to shut up.

“We seem to be suffering from a communication breakdown. Please, take a seat.” Fagin’s voice had none of the animosity Cooper was used to from alpha wolves, but now he had another dilemma.

I don’t know your rules. I don’t dare ask. Where am I meant to sit? On the floor? Giving his suit up as lost anyway, Cooper crossed his legs and sat on the floor. It’s not as though the chairs looked comfortable anyway.

“What the hell?”

Cooper held his breath as the alpha’s face came into view. “You called me Omega,” Cooper muttered. “Where I came from, Omegas sit on the floor.”

Fagin growled, and Cooper ducked instinctively. Although it had been ten years since he’d heard the low menacing rumble from an alpha, his wolf still reacted as though it was yesterday. The growl got louder in response and Cooper felt his heart start to pound rapidly and black spots appeared in front of his eyes.

“Please get up. In this office you sit on a chair,” Fagin grumbled. “Or better yet, my lap. Who do I need to kill for causing my mate to cower this way?”

Kill? Mate? That feeling of falling into the twilight zone increased. At least his hardened cock made sense, but Cooper didn’t know how to act around alphas any other way. Years of conditioning made some things instinctive. Focusing on what he could handle, Cooper made to get up but before he’d got his feet under him properly the office door opened and hit him on the ass. He went flying again ñ this time into the corner of Fagin’s desk. Fuck, that hurts, Cooper thought as he crashed to the floor and the lights went out.

Adult Excerpt

“Weren’t you just telling me, I really shouldn’t give a damn what people think?” Fagin’s eyes showed his resolve. “I fully plan on letting you take me one day. Not today, I don’t think either one of us are there yet, but there is going to come a time when I’m not behaving like an idiot and you trust me with all you are. I know I’ve set that back some with my actions over the weekend, but we’ve not known each other long. It will come. I promise.”

Cooper’s mouth was dry, his mind assailed with wicked images a good little omega should never be thinking of. He imagined the taste of Fagin’s skin under his tongue; tracing over every ink stroke engraved there while his cock brushed against the swell of Fagin’s naked ass. He heard a groan and was shocked to hear it came from him. Fagin’s smirk didn’t help matters.

“You’re thinking about it, aren’t you, my delicious little Omega.” Fagin’s fingers burned through Cooper’s shirt and Cooper arched into the touch. “You’re imagining what it’d be like to delve between my ass cheeks, maybe tease my virgin hole with your tongue as you work to make me ready for you.”

Cooper’s eyes fluttered closed and he groaned deliberately this time. His pants were sticking to the end of his dick and his ass begged to be filled. Fagin’s hand behind his neck pulled him closer, and a shiver ran down Cooper’s spine as Fagin licked up and then nibbled down the tendons in his neck. “You can feel it now, can’t you.” The sound of a zipper had never sounded so loud. A slight breeze and a firm clasp around his dick, let Cooper know it was his.

“Your cock sinking into my tight heat,” Fagin’s voice lowered in a growl. “Feeling my whole body clench around you as you thrust deep.”

“Fagin.” Cooper pleaded. He didn’t know what he needed, but fuck, he needed it now. One rip later and his ass was exposed. Cooper pushed his butt out as Fagin’s finger ran down his crack.

“Imagine surrounded by the heat of my body.” Fagin slid a finger deep inside and Cooper cried out.

There was a fumble and a second finger joined the first. Cooper could feel his slick running down his butt and there was a tiny part screaming at him that his suit was ruined. But all he wanted in that moment was for Fagin’s length to fill him, thrust into him, pound into him ñ anything to take away the ache he felt in the pit of his stomach.

Sunday Spotlight - Hayden West and Claiming the Throne

Welcome Hayden West back to Sunday Spotlight -- they're sharing a bit from the new release, Claiming the Throne (The Prince's Mate, 3)

****

Zach Adan wasn't sure he would have survived this long, being thrust into this world he'd never believed had even existed, he was now a key player in this world.

Prince Chamber Sept Mallo, Chase to everyone else, has finally returned home to claim his throne. He's also brought his mate with him. It wasn't going to be as simple as that, however, as there are still those who want him dead, as well as his mate. Will he be able to keep not only his own throne but also his mate?

Chapter One

Chase yawned as he rolled over, a slight smile turning up his lips at the hard body of his mate and lover lying there beside him. Right now everything was quiet. He had no problem hearing the soft snores from Danny, Zach’s brother from the next tent over where the others slept.

He’d refused to budge on Zach and he sleeping away from one another. Chase needed the comfort, the touch. And so did his wolf.

It wasn’t about the sex right now, it was about the tactile satisfaction.

They had thrown up camp after returning to his lands. He’d not wanted to go home yet, even though his presence would have been sensed.

The breathing of his lover changed and he knew then, Zach had awakened.

“Morning.”

While he didn’t pull away, the man stiffened and that was a dagger to the heart in itself. I suppose I should be happy he didn’t pull away. But the sad truth was, he wasn’t. This, whatever the hell it was between them, the rift, it was sort of felt as if it were growing and set him more and more on edge.

Since the conversion, Zach had changed. In more ways than he’d initially believed. And he wasn’t coming back to his old self. Yes, being forced to become a shifter, couldn’t be easy. He got that.

Chase had been born one. And of the royal line at that so he had it easy, his body and wolf were one complete unit. Two parts of the same whole.

He understood—on some level—it wasn’t the easiest for Zach and it killed him to be unable to make it smoother for him.

Reaching for his mate, his wolf calmed the moment they had skin to skin contact. So did he. Zach remained facing away from him. Chase didn’t care, right now he wanted to touch.

“I thought we had to go.”

Chase curved and arm around the man beside him, drawing near.

“We have time.”

For a moment, Zach relaxed. In the blink of an eye he had pulled away and was across the tent. Chase sat, mind cataloging everything. The fear, anger, and uncertainty in his eyes along with the wildness that reined unchecked.

In slow, increments awareness crept back in. “I should check on Danny.”

Chase nodded, well aware telling Zach that Danny was safe with the others wouldn’t go over well. His foster brother was a sensitive spot as well as an extremely volatile one.

“Let’s go then.” Chase reached for his jacket and shoes. They finished at the same time and Chase trailed him out of the tent, closing the flap behind him.

The cold mountain air cut through his exposed skin, making him glad they had the tents. Sure, he could have stayed in the nearest town but he preferred the outdoors, like most shifters.

He cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders as his lieutenants and best friends exited their tent. No Danny.

Trey met his questioning gaze with a smile. “He’s still sleeping.”

Zach pushed into the tent and Chase didn’t look away until his mate had vanished.

“How’s Danny holding up?”

He almost missed the shuttered expression on Trey’s face that lingered ever so briefly.

“Exhausted. Slept like a man who’d been awake for days without any shuteye. He’s worried about his brother on top of that and that’s not helping.”

And you’re concerned for him.“For good reason.” He cast a glance back to the tent. “He and his wolf are at war. They’ve not come to peace yet.”

“Are you sure they will?” Victor asked.

“No, but I have to hope that it come to pass. The crone said he would be a monster. I don’t want to have to kill my mate.”

“Could you?” Trey posed the question, crouching to build up the fire.

“Pack comes first. It’s my fault the wolf is in him. I will deal with the consequences.” He acknowledged he hadn’t answered the question because in all honesty, he didn’t think he would be able to kill his own mate. That’s not how it worked, die for him? In a heartbeat. But to take his life from him? That was doubtful.

I would be a shell of a man if it came to that but I have to do what is best for the Pack. That’s how it’s always been and how it will always be.

Victor grunted and went to pull a pot form the back of the vehicle. Soon water heated for coffee and they had food cooking soon after.

Chase was drinking his second cup of coffee when Zach and Danny emerged from the tent. His mate appeared calm and for a moment it irritated him that another male could—and did—provide that for him. Reining in both his anger and the wolf, he met both of their gazes.

“There’s coffee and food. We’re leaving in twenty minutes.”

He turned to face Trey. His righthand man never wasted time just crouched beside him, a stick in one massive hand.

“Are we heading straight in?”

He drained his coffee, swallowed, then placed the mug in the snow. “Yep. My uncle has to know I’m already on my way. Given so does everyone else, he won’t do anything aside from welcoming me home with open arms. He will want everyone think he was in support of my claiming the throne before he tries to have me step down for being unmated.”

“And when he finds out?”

“He’ll try to kill me.” Try being the operative word.

“Who’s trying to kill you?” Danny stood near them both.

Cutting his eyes to the right, he ran an impartial skim over the man who was his brother-in-law. Or would be once they were officially wed. to him, Danny was family already as he and Zach were mated.

“My uncle.” He shared a look with Trey and pushed to his feet. “He wants the throne.”

Danny shook his head. “I thought our family was odd.”

“Royal politics suck.” Beyond Danny, Zach worked with Victor on loading up the SUV with all of their tents and other gear. “When we get there, stay close to Trey, Victor, or Harry. Don’t go wandering around alone.”

“I’m not in line for the throne.”

“You’re human. Most of my kind have little to no use for your kind.”

“Swell. So he’ll be fine?”

Chase didn’t have to ask which “he” Danny asked about.

“No, he won’t go anywhere alone either.”

“He’s not going to like that.”

“Zach can be pissed all he wants. My goal is to keep him alive.”

Danny walked closer so there was very little space between them. His wolf snarled low but other than being alert, did nothing.

“Is that because he means so much to you personally or because of what he means to your throne?”

His wolf didn’t take to much offense to that, he was actually impressed by Danny’s fortitude. Chase blinked slowly, careful to keep his wolf at bay and calm, not wanting Zach to fly into protective mode. He wasn’t sure how much, or rather, how little would set him off.

“The crown and throne are a result of my status. It is what it is. I wasn’t looking for a mate when I met Zach. However, he is my mate and the most important thing in my life, make no mistake.”

“All I care about is his happiness. When this is over, I will be back to my life of surfing and jet setting. I need to know he’s in the best possible hands.”

Trey tensed briefly, his attention on the woods to the left. Chase didn’t shift his attention from Danny, aware of everything around them.

“He is in the best possible hands. Mine.”

Is everything okay, Trey?

His lieutenant didn’t provide a verbal response, merely a sharp nod of his head.

“Let’s move,” he called out, needing to have Zach out of danger.

Probably shouldn’t bring him to the royal house then.Ignoring his inner commentary, he shoved his hands in his front pockets.

The urgency in his tone couldn’t be missed. At the royal house his father may want to kill him bur the most part they should be safe there. Unless things had completely changed since he had left.

If I ignore the fact I’m bringing in a human and my mate who is considered an abomination from the forced conversion. Yeah, we’ll be fine.

At the vehicle, he and Victor took the front. Trey had the back with Harry while Zach and Dann were in the middle.

Victor drove. Chase wasn’t going to argue, he was the best driver. He’d grown up on the track and could drive anything with a wheel. Hell, not only with a wheel, anything that moved.

Sunday Spotlight - Olivia Black and Trey (Belt Buckle Ranch,6 )

Welcome Olivia Black to my blog -- she's here to share a bit from Trey, Belt Buckle Ranch, Book 6.

Trey Williams left an abusive home life when he was just a teenager and started living on the streets. Without a high school diploma and no way to get a job, Trey turned to a life of prostitution. One night, Trey gets jumped by a group of hooded strangers. Beaten and broken and with nowhere to go, Trey is taken to the Belt Buckle Ranch to recover from his injuries.

Doctor Jon Perry is called out to the ranch for a medical emergency. When Jon sees Trey, he’s shocked by the young man’s condition. Jon stays by Trey’s side, nursing him back to health. He feeds Trey, changes his bandages, and bathes him. Jon cares for Trey and, over time, their relationship grows. But Trey has difficulty adjusting.

While Trey’s body may be healing, his memories still haunt him. In order to have a future, he’s going to have to face the past

Story Excerpt:

Trey Williams slept as the pain medication worked its way through his system. When the car started bouncing along a gravel road, he slowly peeled his eyelids open and looked around. A surge of relief swept through his system, and moisture filled Trey’s eyes as he choked back a sob. The gratitude he felt toward Oliver and the rest of the men rocked the foundation of Trey’s life, and he knew things would never be the same again.
When the car passed under a large wooden sign that read Belt Buckle Ranch, Trey tried to smile, but his swollen lips wouldn’t even twitch. Trey glanced around and took in the beautiful surroundings. Large, snow-capped mountains set up the backdrop for the most picturesque place Trey had ever seen in his life. The land was sprinkled with snow, showing small patches of greenery throughout the open space.
Looking back, Trey realized that signing himself out of the hospital against doctor’s orders wasn’t the best idea, but he couldn’t stand the smell of the sterile environment. It brought back a lot of memories from his childhood. The place made him physically ill, and even though he had been beaten to a bloody pulp, he couldn’t force himself to stay. Once he was conscious, Trey checked himself out and left.
He hadn’t taken into account the amount of pain he’d be in once the IVs were removed and the pain medication left his system. Trey barely made it back to the apartment before collapsing in agony.
When the car came to an abrupt stop, Trey pushed the memory away. He wasn’t there any longer, so there was no sense in thinking about it. Coming back to the present, Trey’s eyes landed on a group of men standing on the porch of a two-story ranch house. They started walking toward the car, and Trey’s body shook uncontrollably as fear consumed him. He knew the men weren’t going to hurt him, but the feeling wouldn’t subside.
Oliver seemed to sense his distress. He jumped out of the car and intercepted the group, sending them away.
Taking a few deep breathes, Trey tried to calm his frayed nerves. Once the group had dispersed, Trey was relieved. Not just because of his anxiety, but because he didn’t want anyone else staring at him as if he were a circus freak. Having Oliver, Hank, and Robbie look at him with pity shining brightly in their eyes was bad enough.
The door opened, and Oliver leaned in the car. He wrapped his right arm around Trey’s waist, holding him close. “Lean on me. Take your time. I don’t want you to hurt yourself.”
Trey nodded. He prepared himself for a severe amount of pain before moving his left leg. He stepped on the ground and shifted his weight. He started to stand, but Oliver took over, helping Trey to his feet in one fluid motion.
“I’m Dr. Jon Perry,” an older gentleman, in his early forties, introduced himself. “But, you can call me, Jon.”
The man had tousled brown hair with silver strands painted throughout the thick locks. His eyes were kind, and he had a gentle smile. Looking at the man gave Trey an automatic sense of peace.
“I’m going to wrap my arm around your waist so that I can help you inside. We have to walk up a flight of stairs to one of the guest rooms. If you need to stop for a break, just let us know.”
Dr. Perry and Oliver allowed him to lean on them, holding him securely as they walked toward the house. With each step, Trey felt himself growing weak and tired, but he pushed himself to keep going. By the time he stepped over the threshold of the large farmhouse, Trey was wheezing.
Oliver and Dr. Perry immediately stopped. They gave him a few minutes to catch his breath and pull himself together. Panting heavily, Trey’s head dropped forward, and he closed his eyes. He couldn’t ever remember being so weak. Then again, he’d never been beaten within an inch of his life.
“Hank,” Oliver said. “Can you get me some water, please?”
After a couple minutes, Trey stood up a little straighter and lifted his head. Oliver pressed the water bottle against his lips. A few drops dribbled out, and Trey licked the opening, trying to take a drink of the water, but his swollen mouth wouldn’t cooperate. Most of the cold liquid ended up on the front of his shirt, but he did manage to take a few small sips.
“I’m good,” he told them.
“We’re going to take one stair at a time,” Dr. Perry told him.

Trey nodded in agreement. He knew they couldn’t stand in the entryway all day, but he wasn’t sure how much more he’d be able to take. The pain medication was wearing off. Every ache and pain rushed through his system. Lifting his foot, Trey stepped up. He took a few stairs before stopping once again.

Special Saturday Spotlight - Maggie Walsh and Parker's Predicament

Welcome Maggie Walsh back to my blog -- she's here today to share a bit about her new pre-order title, Parker's Predicament.  Since I missed posting this last Sunday, I'm catching up today with Mags!

When Parker came to Sanctuary to chase after his brother, he never expected to find a place he could finally call home, not to mention his mate. Parker is excited to find his mate, but also terrified. Parker left someone special back in San Francisco, who he planned on calling to join him. But now he doesn’t know how his new mate will react to Octavian.
Octavian was worried sick when Parker just up and disappeared without a word, so he hits the road in search of Parker. Then, the residents of Sanctuary, including Julien, become victims of some strange drug, and the alpha is called in. They find out that whoever is behind the attacks was after Parker to begin with. Then, Parker and Maxi go missing, and the only clue is a rancid scent.

Octavian and Julien know that Parker’s demon has found him, and they have a limited amount of time to find their mate before it is too late and they lose Parker forever.

Excerpt:

Julien couldn’t seem to form words in his head right now, and he definitely couldn’t speak any. So, he just nodded.

Parker’s fingers went to the buttons on his work shirt as Octavian’s fingers worked his pants open. Together his two men stripped him of all his clothes and Julien just stood there and let them. He ached to touch one of them, both of them, but he kept his hands at his sides, fists clenched. He only moved a limb when one of his mates moved it for him to discard his clothes.

Suddenly, he stood bare before them and two sets of lips began to explore his body. One in the back and one in the front. Lips caressed, tongues licked, and teeth nipped, as four hands glided over all his exposed skin. Octavian latched onto his left nipple and sucked as he played with the barbell with his tongue.

“I fucking love all these tattoos,” Parker whispered, his hot breath blowing over Julien’s heated flesh.

“Mmm. I just want to lick every one of them, along with every bump and ridge of this gloriously muscled body. And his nipples are so responsive to my touch. It’s very erotic,” Octavian stated, then dropped to his knees.

Julien’s eyes widened and he gasped with the realization of what his mate was about to do. Octavian wrapped his fingers around the base of Julien’s cock, holding his hard shaft out toward his face, then Octavian kissed the tip. “Have you ever had a vampire blowjob before, mate?”

Julien just shook his head. “You’ll love it,” Parker whispered against his neck.

Octavian looked up at him and their gazes met and Julien could see the heat and mischief in his mate’s eyes. Octavian stuck out his tongue, dragging the tip along the underside of his cock from base to tip, then speared it into the slit. Julien’s knees started to tremble as a deep groan escaped his throat.

Octavian reached between his legs with the other hand and cupped his balls, rolling them gently. Then Julien felt two hands on his ass cheeks, spreading them apart. He didn’t want to look away from what his vampire mate was doing, but he wanted to see what Parker was up to. Julien turned his head and looked down behind him, just in time to see Parker’s light brown head move toward him, then a wet tongue slid over his crease. “Fuck!” Julien said through clenched teeth.

“Now you guessed our surprise,” Octavian said with a wink when Julien looked at him again.

Octavian ran the tip of his tongue over Julien’s leaking head, then wrapped his lips around the helmet and began to suck, just as Parker thrust his tongue inside Julien’s ass. His hands shot out and grabbed Octavian’s shoulders. Julien needed something to hold onto or he was afraid his knees would give out and he would fall on his face.

His vampire mate slid his lips down his shaft as his tongue pulsed against the thick vein that ran along the underside. The hand holding his sac gave a little squeeze, then pulled down slightly, causing a whole new sensation to rush through him.

Parker’s hands pulled his cheeks apart wider, and he began to feast on Julien’s ass. Julien had never felt anything so amazing in all his life. He had always wondered what a rim job would feel like, but had never received one. He had always given that pleasure to his former boyfriends, and knew they enjoyed it, but no one had ever done it for him. Even though they had each loved having Julien do it for them, they all said the same thing. It was too yucky, or too taboo. But here was his mate, his Parker, down on his knees, giving Julien one of the best sexual experiences of his life.

Just as Octavian took Julien down his throat fully, and his nose pressed against the curly hairs of his groin, Julien felt a finger slide into his ass. “Holy fucking hell! Yes! Oh gods, yes, mates!” Julien cried out as his hold on Octavian tightened. He couldn’t hold back his pleasure any more. Not only had none of his previous lovers ever eaten his ass, but no one had ever played with his ass or fucked him. Not that he didn’t want it, but because of his size, he guessed everyone always assumed he was just a top.

He had played with his own ass on occasion and even had a few dildos at home that he loved to play with, but this was so much more. As he got lost in his thoughts and what his mates were doing to his body, Parker added a second and then a third finger to his ass, and scissored them, stretching him, as Parker continued to thrust his tongue around Julien’s opening and dip it inside of him.

Octavian’s head began to bob up and down at a steady pace as he sucked Julien hard. Lights flashed behind his closed lids and Julien’s head began to get light. He didn’t know how much more he could take of this dual pleasure, but he didn’t want it to stop. His seed churned inside his balls, aching to be released as the heavy sac pulled up tight against his body.

Julien moved his hands to Octavian’s head and gripped him tight, but not too tight, he didn’t want to hurt his mate. Suddenly, Octavian stopped moving, but kept up the suction on his cock. Julien looked down at him in confusion until Octavian grabbed Julien’s hips and started thrusting him, forcing his cock down Octavian’s throat. Suddenly, he understood what a wonderful gift his mate was offering him. Octavian was letting him take over as he remained still and was the vessel to Julien’s pleasure. Octavian relaxed his throat and jaw, and closed his eyes as he began to caress his hands up the insides of Julien’s thighs.

Warning: This book contains double anal penetration.
