Special Spotlight -- April Andrews and Omega Abducted

April Andrews is back with another Omega Auctions book -- Omega Abducted. This is the ninth in the series, and I hear there is a plan for a 10th, as well!

***

Alexander may have been born into a pack, but he was never a wolf. Cursed with a defect that not only stopped him from shifting, but also from heeding the call of the pack, Alexander escaped into the human world and made his fortune.

But, during those years, all those long years living a human life, Alexander never forgot one aspect of his former life. That there, in the wolf world, his mate awaited him.

Now, with the wolf shifters deep in civil war, and a shady human organization planning to take advantage of that fact, Alexander realizes it is time to claim his male and take him away from the chaos that is to come. At least, that’s the plan… but Alexander’s mate might have other ideas entirely…

The ballroom that Alexander Lupin found himself in on a cold, rainy night was a perfect circle—or at least as perfect a circle as human hands could make. In the middle of that ballroom was a circular stage. Around that stage were over a dozen circular tables. And, if that wasn’t enough, the golden lights suspended above him, dozens and dozens of them, were also circular, or spheres he supposed. The only break in the smooth curves came from the people who were busy making their way into the ballroom, taking their seats at the tables or simply mingling with one another.
Alex didn’t know any of these people, and for some reason their hard angles against the multitude of circles and spheres made him angrier than he had been when he’d arrived just a handful of minutes ago. It took quite a bit of composure to stop the scowl he could feel bubbling within from showing up on his face, because scowls, frowns, grimaces—none of them would be acceptable here. Or perhaps it was better to say that none of theemotionsbeneath them were welcome.
Annoyance.
Irritation.
Anger.
They had no place in a room where the people were all smiling, all laughing, all happy with anticipation.
As Alex scanned the room, taking in everything around him—the circles, the people, the atmosphere—he wondered where his anticipation was. Hadn’t he worked towards this for over three years? Hadn’t he spent tens of thousands of dollars to even be allowed in the same room as these people? Surely, and despite the anger, he should be feeling some excitement? Some eagerness for what was about to happen.
Only, Alex didn’t. He was annoyed by what he could see here. He was pissed off that this place even existed. And he was fucking furious that these people were happy. But then, he’d known for a long time that he would feel this way once he was actually inside. It couldn’t be helped. Was to be expected.
What he was surprised about, what he hadn’t expected, was how nervous he was. Though surely, he should have expected that? Early mornings, late nights, and everything in between, had brought him to this point. So much rested on what was to happen over the next few hours. It would be weird if he wasn’t nervous.
It all came down to this.
He let out a shaky breath at that thought, swiftly followed by a careful exhale. The people continued to flow into the ballroom, a steady stream of them making their way to their seats, smiling and chatting with each other as they passed by. They were all human, there was no question of that. Alex might not be a proper shifter, but he was still, somewhere deep inside, wolf enough to recognize one of his kin.
There were no wolves in this room.
No alphas.
No betas.
And certainly, no omegas.
Just humans. Rich humans. Pampered humans. Humans who demanded things that they shouldn’t even know about, never mind covet. And yet, they did.
The anger, the irritation, the annoyance, it all rose again. Sharp. Biting. Alex drew in another deep breath. He had to keep some fucking control! He was here for one reason and one reason only, and he had to remember that. Remember how important it was.
With that thought in mind, Alex moved away from his spot at the very edge of the ballroom and began to make his way across the circular space. He narrowed his eyes on the path in front of him, looking as he did so for the table that he was supposed to sit at. The encrypted message he had received early Monday morning had made it quite clear that his seat was allocatedonlyto him, and that he should sit onlythere. The message had included other information as well. Where tonight’s ‘event’ was taking place, what time he was supposed to arrive, and what method of payment he should bring.
Payment…
Alex clenched his fists as he continued walking, winding around the tables, past the happy people, the glow of the spheres seeming to heat him from above. He was almost there, at his seat, when something hit his shoulder. Alex turned, scowl still buried deep, fists no longer clenched, to see a woman—dressed head to toe in red—stepping away from him. He shot her a brief look, and she returned it with what could only be described as a soft sigh.
“Apologies,” she said after a moment. “I didn’t see you there.”
Alex was over six feet tall and wide enough that the woman would have to be near blind not to have noticed him.
“It is not a problem,” he said, and he really tried to keep his voice as smooth and non-threatening as possible.
Perhaps he was unsuccessful? Or, perhaps the woman just liked what she saw? Either way, she arched a perfectly manicured brow and let out another soft sigh.
“At the very least I should get you a drink,” she said. “To apologize for the inconvenience.”
“It is no inconvenience,” Alex replied even as he recognized the look that was now stamped firmly across the woman-in-red’s face.
Lust.
Desire.
Hunger
It was always the way with human women. And, the worst of it was that they didn’t even realize that they hungered because of what he was. That on some level, buried deep, subconscious even, they understood that he was different, andthat, not him, was what they responded to. Still, it was fucking annoying, and Alex had dealt with women like this for more years that he cared to remember. Not just women but men too.
Humans.
Alex lived with them. In their world. By necessity he had built his own life within it. But it was at times like this when he ached for the world he had once known. The world he could never return to.
A world he didn’t belong in.
He opened his mouth to reply to the woman, though he wasn’t even sure what he planned to say, when a male—a human male—appeared at her shoulder. The man had to be sixty if he was a day and he reeked of money, from his silvered hair all the way to his polished shoes. Alex had met plenty of males like this during his time in the human world. Money talked here. It was what the humans used to establish dominance. How different it was from the shifter world where strength mattered above everything else.
“Are you joining our table?” the male asked, gesturing to where Alex was supposed to sit.
His voice was friendly, interested. Alex looked from him to the red-clad woman, quickly establishing their relationship. Lovers, what else, but more on his part than hers. Though Alex did not doubt that the rubies that dripped from her ears and her neck more than made up for any negative emotions she might feel about their arrangement.
“I am,” Alex said.
The other man smiled and held out a hand. “Tomas.”
“Alexander.”
“A pleasure to meet you,” Tomas said as he waved them towards their seats.
The other seats were empty for now. The woman in red took the seat next to Alex. Was it even hers? Did she care? Was she rich enough that it wouldn’t matter, even here, in this group, at this event? Alex didn’t know but he considered it as he sat down, considered her and Tomas, and wondered exactly how many of these events they had attended and what had happened at the end of them...
“Are you hoping for anything in particular tonight?” Tomas asked as drinks were poured for them. Alex had no intention of drinking. As a rule, he simply didn’t. There was much that happened in the human world that Alex didn’t take part in.
“Nothing in particular,” Alex said slowly.
Tomas grinned. “Keeping your cards close to your chest?”
“Something like that.”
“We’re here for Monique,” Tomas said, waving a hand at his lover. She had her body angled to Alex, eyes fixed on him with that same, familiar hunger. “She has a hankering for a new companion,” Tomas continued. “The last one didn’t work out.”
“He worked out for a little while,” Monique said.
Tomas laughed. She shot him a playful smile. It took Alex only a moment to understand exactly what they were saying, and though he had wondered, part of him wished he didn’t know the answer. The anger hit all over again. It was a painfully physical thing. Alex wrapped his hand around his still-full glass in an effort to find some self-control. Others arrived at the table as he struggled for that control.
A man.
A woman.
Another couple.
Introductions were made, pleasantries swapped, questions asked. Alex joined in only because he had to, only because it would be suspicious if he didn’t. But, with every greeting, every remark, every smile, the anger remained. And, it was ridiculous, because he’d known why these people were here. He’d known exactly what they were planning. And, wasn’t he here for the exact same reason? Hadn’t he spent all that money to be given the same chance that these people had?
To buy an omega.
A wolf shifter all of their own.
Only difference was, Alex wasn’t here to buy just any omega, he was here to buy his mate.

Sunday Spotlight - April Andrews and AN UNCONVENTIONAL DESIRE

Welcome April Andrews back to Sunday Spotlight!  She's here to share a bit from her recent re-release, An Unconventional Desire.  She's always been a great fan of Historical Romances and wanted to try her hand at one herself.  Here's a peek!

When he arrives at the first ball of the season and meets the eager ladies all vying to become Lady Rutherford his heart sinks. None stir his blood and none fire his imagination. Rutherford isn’t sure how he will ever bring himself to accept one of them as his wife. But then he meets the enigmatic Lord Hastings and everything changes.

Before long Rutherford discovers that, even in a world where duty is more important than desire, some men have found a way to fulfill both. And that means that not every lord must have a wife....sometimes he can follow his heart instead.

An Unconventional Desire

Joss shuddered. ‘Unconventional’, that was what he had always termed it in his mind. Wider society did not term it thus. To them it was ‘unnatural’, or ‘abhorrent’. And, if Joss was ever found out to be harboring such feelings both he and his family would be forever disgraced.

What if Nicholas was simply being friendly? What if he did not harbor the same feelings that Joss did? It was entirely possible. Joss had next to no experience of how other men reacted when they felt like this. What if Joss had confused the whole thing in his mind and Nicholas realized? He would be disgusted. Outraged even. And, then the rumors would soon fly thick and heavy. Joss would have no choice but to flee back to his estate. And, whilst he did not have a problem with that, his parents and sister, her family too, would forever bare his disgrace.

Joss could not allow that to happen.

The only way to prevent it was to steer clear of Nicholas. No matter how much he wanted to see the other man—because God knew that he did—Joss had to stay away! That meant no dining together. Not tonight and not any other night either. Joss had to refuse to see the other man. There was no other way. But, what damn excuse could he make?

Joss paced the floor of his rooms as he considered that. It would all be so much easier if Nicholas had sent a card. Joss could just have ignored it. Or better yet, if Nicholas had issued his invite with others around them, Joss could have made an excuse that Nicholas—being a gentleman—would not have been able to call him out on. But, his quick invitation, followed by his hurried departure? Joss hadn’t time to refuse it, had been too confused to find the words, too busy trying to stop him cock from hardening, and now he was left like this.

Pacing his rooms.

His heart thumping.

His palms all hot and heavy as they considered the man who was due to arrive at any moment.

The man he wanted to touch.

Joss closed his eyes. His cock thickened once again. He cursed. Wishing the damn thing would just behave itself. It had been hardening for days, and despite the fact Joss had pulled it free more than once and stroked himself until he spent his seed, the release did not seem to satisfy him.

Only one thing would.

The one thing he could not have.

Now not.

Not ever.

The door opened behind him. Joss did not turn around. He crossed his arms, willing his cock to soften, even as he heard the words of his manservant Morley, his only servant here in the capital.

“Lord Hastings to see you, me’ lord.”

Joss’ cock jerked within his breeches. He kept his eyes shut tight as a shudder ran through him. How badly he wanted to see Nicholas. To look at him just one more time. To hear his voice. To feel him close by.

It was madness!

Sheer madness!

Sunday Spotlight - April Andrews and Pack Versus Mates

Welcome to Sunday Spotlight! April Andrews is returning to share a bit from her new release Pack Versus Mates.  It's the 8th book in her The Omega Auctions series. If you love wolf shifters, alphas and omegas, then you should check out this series!

If you’re born an omega, you don’t get to stay with your pack. Instead, you’re sent to the Omega Auctions, a place where wolves are traded between packs...a place where they have no say in their future…but a place where, at long last, some wolves are finally fighting back…

On a farm in the middle of nowhere two omega wolves are being held captive by their pack. But, Art and Joe have heard stories of a group of wolves who are setting omegas free and offering them a new life. Art and Joe want a chance at a new life too…but they don’t just want it for themselves, they want it for their mate as well.

Jared has also heard these stories and he is worried about what is going to happen to his pack, and to his mates. So, when the farm is raided by members of the free pack of wolves his first instinct is to protect Joe and Art, to keep them safe, and to keep them with his pack.

But, it isn’t going to be as simple as that. Before long, Jared is going to be faced with a difficult choice. To stand by the pack that he has been loyal to his entire life, or to stand by his mates

Joe awoke to the feel of soft, fluttering kisses on the very top of his cock-head. He gasped from the contact and not least because he knew those lips better than he knew his own, and the last time he had touched them had been just hours ago as he kissed his mate goodnight.

Only, now those lips were on his shaft and Joe sighed with pleasure as they moved along the length, leaving little tingles of delight in their wake. Joe loved how that felt. Art knew exactly how to please him with his lips. It was one of the many things that Joe loved about his mate.

He sighed and arched his hips before reaching down and running his fingers through Art’s hair.

“Art?” he whispered even as hands began to run along his chest.

“Who else?” Art asked.

“That feels so good,” Joe whispered.

“Always,” Art replied.

His hands were moving lower now, running along Joe’s thighs. Joe knew what that meant, and he eagerly spread them for the other man before reaching out with his arms, welcoming Art above him, into him, exactly where the other man belonged.

But then…a shadow crossed over his vision. Joe gasped as he realized exactly what that meant. His cock jerked against Art’s open mouth. Pre-cum blossomed. Art licked it up even as Joe gasped again.

“Jared…” he whispered.

Patrick, the head scientist of this little freak show, loved to suck cock. And not just now and then, and not just as a prelude to the main event, but all the time, and as often as he possibly could. In that he reminded Ellis of Dr. Christian.

Dr. Christian…Ellis sighed…it was actually Dr. Christian’s fault that Ellis found himself in his current position.

Stuck in a lab.

Trapped in a lab.

And at the mercy of all the shifters in here who wanted to get their hands on a hot, little omega.

Well, Ellis frowned, it wasn’t just Dr. Christian. Ellis had to take a little bit of the blame. After all, no one had forced him to accept Christian’s advances, no one had forced his cock into Christian’s mouth…and no one could have known that Dr. Christian’s wife would walk in on them just as they were getting into the swing of things.

She had not been happy. Ellis could remember well the look on her face as she caught her husband with a mouth full of cum. As a ranking scientist in Meta Pharmaceuticals, she had ultimately been responsible for sending Ellis here.

A puzzle she’d called it.

He only had to find his way out the other side.

Only then would he be able to return to his old life.

Of course, she’d neglected to mention that there were three beasts between him and the other side of the lab, and that each and every one of them were expecting to be pleasured by the latest omega introduced into their environment.

She probably imagined it as a fitting punishment. Ellis getting his just desserts. Ellis had too in the beginning, once he realized exactly what was happening.

Sunday Spotlight -- April Andrews and Stepping Over the Edge

EXCERPT

The house was not at all what Jamie had expected it to be. When he’d spoken with the realtor, not once but several times, he’d been very clear that he wanted somewhere small, somewhere easy to maintain, and somewhere that was surrounded by other people. In his mind’s eye, he had imagined a compact townhouse, maybe with families living on either side, people that would be welcoming and approachable, people that he could become friends with.

It was clear now, that the realtor had ignored all his instructions and then some. The house that he stood in front of was not small, it was not easy to maintain, and there were no other houses even remotely close by.

Jamie pressed his lips into a tight line as he considered that. He looked down at the shadowed, winding road that his old truck had wheezed its way up. The road, flanked by tall trees on either side, even canopied in some places, went on for many miles. It led to the small town that was nestled in the valley below. Down there was where all the townhouses were, all the families, all the life.

But up here? Jamie shook his head as he turned to look back at the house. It stood, like some kind of sentry, alone on the hill, surrounded on three sides by more of the tall, thick trees. Huge, leafy bushes jostled for space with the trunks of those trees, covering the ground in patches of brown and green.

The house was three stories high, and even from this position, head on, Jamie counted seventeen windows. The windows were, in the main, ridiculously large, but were made up of hundreds of small panes surrounded by squares of wood that were peeling white paint. The front door, the only door that Jamie could see, was big enough to allow two or three people through at once. It had once been painted a deep, dark charcoal but that had peeled and faded now to something more like a muted gray. Only on the edges could Jamie see the color as it had once been. A huge, triangular overhang—a muted gray also—framed the weathered door, trying, Jamie thought, to welcome him in.

Jamie did not feel welcome.

If anything, Jamie felt vaguely uncomfortable.

He looked back at his truck. Stuffed inside of it, taking up all the space but that of the driver’s side, were Jamie’s possessions. They were held in large bags, backpacks, and even some in grocery sacks. There was no method to how Jamie had packed them. The moment he had decided to leave, that defining moment, he had simply stuffed everything that he thought he might need into any bag that was close by.

The rest of his things? They were still in his apartment back in the city. An apartment that Jamie had lived in for almost a decade. An apartment that, he knew, without a doubt, he could never live in again.

But could he live here?

Jamie let out a long exhale at that thought. He eyed the truck again before turning back to the house. As he did so, he wondered where the realtor was. It was past midday and she, Elizabeth, had promised to meet him at twelve sharp. She would give him the tour, she had said, show him where everything was. Jamie frowned as he recalled her jaunty voice, her gurgling laugh, and her lack of any offer to send through photographs of the new home she had found him.

In fairness, she had offered once before, many weeks ago, but Jamie had refused. He didn’t want pictures of his new home, he didn’t even want the address. She was to find him somewhere, take care of all the paperwork, and let him know when it was done. Only then would she give him the address, only then would Jamie make a decision on whether to set out or not.

Why?

Jamie’s frown deepened.

Because he was a fool, that was why.

Because he was following a stupid fantasy that had been dead for many years.

Because he should know better.

He closed his eyes. The breeze, stronger up here than it had been in the valley below, feathered over the skin of his face and his bare arms. The sun was weak this time of the year, but it still warmed him ever so slightly. A bird called out in the distance. The branches of the tall trees moved languidly in the breeze. One of them creaked against something. One of the many windows perhaps. He would have to cut that branch down if he was to stay here. It would keep him awake otherwise.

Jamie snapped his eyes open.

Was he really considering staying in this…horror house?

Was there any other word for it? Jamie had watched enough slasher movies over the years to know that they always started in places that looked like this. Old houses, houses on hills, houses surrounded by trees, houses miles away from civilization.

And yet, Jamie wasn’t frightened by that possibility. He wasn’t frightened of anything that might physically happen to him. But mentally? Emotionally? Jamie shivered. The whole point of coming here, to this town, to this new life, was to fix that part of him. He had imagined a community, people, friends, something that he hadn’t had for more years than he cared to count.

There was no community up here.

No friends.

No people.

Just him.

Just as there had been for so very long.

Sunday Spotlight: April Andrews and Rescuing His Omega

Welcome April Andrews back to Sunday Spotlight.  She's sharing a bit from her new release -- Rescuing His Omega, the seventh book in the the Omega Auctions series.

If you’re born an omega, you don’t get to stay with your pack. Instead, you’re sent to the Omega Auctions, a place where wolves are traded between packs...a place where they have no say in their future…but a place where, at long last, some wolves are finally fighting back…

Broken and battered, Sebastian has been rescued from the Omega Auctions but he is haunted by his time there...and the time that he spent with the pack that auctioned him. Sebastian has no idea if he will ever heal from what had happened to him and no idea what path his life will take now.

Klaus is a member of the pack that rescued Sebastian—a pack of free wolves—and from the moment they meet he finds himself drawn to the other man. He soon realizes why. Sebastian is his given mate and that means that Klaus has no choice but to claim him.

Only, it won’t be that simple because Sebastian is far from ready for the love that Klaus is offering and he won’t ever be, not unless he confronts his demons. These two wolves will have no option but to go back to the place where Sebastian was shattered...and try their very best to put him back together again.

Klaus knew it was too soon, knew that he had to go slow, knew that he had to be careful, and yet, he couldn’t stop himself from reaching down and taking Sebastian’s hand in his once more.

The moment their skin touched…Klaus almost shuddered. He felt something that he had never felt before. There was something here. Something between them. Something they had both, whether they knew it or not, been waiting for.

Mates.

There was no other explanation.

And yet…the other man shot Klaus a look. It was filled with that same confusion but there was something else there too.

Fear.

It broke Klaus’ heart.

He knew then, and he knew it without a doubt, that his mate was damaged.

Broken.

He knew too that there was only ever going to be one way to put him back together.

Sunday Spotlight - April Andrews

April Andrews is back!  She's sharing a little bit of her upcoming release (Feb 15th!) with us today.  Crossing the Line is the first title in her new Alpha One series.

In the year 2152 the last of humanity lives on a series of generational spaceships. Twice a year, on the ship known as Alpha One, five scouts are chosen to head out into deep space and find places where Alpha One can re-stock its supplies.

Tobias Hark, newly qualified pilot, is one of those scouts but Tobias isn’t being sent on his mission alone. He has been paired with his commanding officer, Javier De Santos. Javier also happens to be the one man that Tobias has been crushing on ever since he joined the pilot unit. But there are rules on Alpha One and those rules mean that Tobias can never let his superior officer know how he feels.

Javier has been following those rules too, despite the fact that he has lusted after Tobias from the day they met. But when their ship lands on a strange planet, and they have to make some drastic decisions in order to survive, Javier soon realizes that if there is ever a time to break those rules it is now. Because protecting Tobias has just become his priority and the only way that Javier can do that is by crossing the line.

Excerpt

If Javier DeSantos heard the word ‘sir’ come out of Tobias Hark’s mouth just one more time he swore it would be his undoing. It wasn’t even the word itself, though that was bad enough. It was the way the young pilot said the damn thing. The way his green eyes seemed to widen. The way his lips parted softly as he spoke. And the way his skin flushed...that soft fucking skin of his...

It was constantly flushed around Javier, and Javier knew why, of course he did, it was fucking obvious. The young pilot had a crush on him. He’d had that crush since his very first day of pilot training.

Javier could remember well the moment he had picked up on it. It had been midday and after the usual briefings that all new pilots were given, Javier had decided to launch them straight into a virtual reality scenario. He often did things like that, springing scenarios and tests on his recruits, it gave him an idea of who was confident, who would need a bit more attention and so on.

The VR was for a planetary landing. Javier had been strapping the pilots into their test modules. Tobias had been the last on his list of new recruits. Javier had eleven in all. Slightly less than the other officers but unlike the other officers Javier didn’t just train new recruits, he was still on active pilot duty himself.

He’d moved across the room to Tobias’ module. The young man was already trying to strap himself in. He was eager. That thought made Javier sigh inwardly. He’d read over Tobias’ record when Tobias had been assigned to him. The young man had only just turned twenty-five—the age of entry to the pilot unit—and he’d come all the way from module zero one, the module at the very front of the ship, one that Javier hadn’t visited in years. The people there tended to end up in the engineering or medical units. Tobias was the first of them to apply for the pilot unit in more than a decade.

And of course, Javier had noticed the other man during their briefing, realized how good looking he was, but he certainly wasn’t the only attractive male to enter the unit, and Javier had thought no more of it.

“Let me show you how to do that properly, Tobias,” Javier had said as he approached Tobias’ module.

The younger man had smiled at those words, looked up, and that was when it happened. That was when Tobias’ crush started...and when Javier’s raging lust did too. In those first few moments together, as Javier looked down at Tobias, as Tobias looked up at him, something clicked between them.

It was just a moment, just a heartbeat, but it happened.

And then Tobias’ skin had flushed a deep, deep pink, his green eyes had widened, and he’d whispered just two words, “Yes, sir.”

Yes, sir....

Those two words had featured in pretty much every wet dream that Javier had experienced since. And there had been plenty of those dreams because try as he might, Javier couldn’t help the fact that Tobias’ crush was not unrequited. Javier felt it too, and no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t stop himself from wanting Tobias.

Badly.

And what the hell was that going to mean for the mission ahead?

“Sir, I’m confused...” Tobias began.

Javier sucked in a deep breath. It was the voice he decided then. The voice did not help matters at all. It was too soft, too easy to imagine it in his ears as he slid his body over the other man’s...

“There’s no need for confusion, pilot, it’s quite simple,” Javier said quickly. “I will be flying the primary scout ship and you will be my co-pilot.”

“You’re coming on the mission too, sir?” Tobias asked and his voice, that damn voice, was filled with confusion.

Javier turned to him and shot him a look. Tobias did not return it. He simply flushed and lowered his gaze. It took quite a bit of Javier’s willpower to stop his body from reacting to the sight of that in the way that it wanted to. “Do you have a problem with me coming on the mission?” he asked.

“No,” Tobias said quickly. “Of course not, I...just...”

“You just what?” Javier demanded.

“I thought scouts went out alone, sir,” Tobias said.

And he was right about that, of course he was, because apart from being the most attractive male that Javier had ever met, Tobias was also the only pilot in over twenty years who had scored one hundred percent on every single exam that he had ever taken. The test flights, the written exams, the oral exams, he never put a foot wrong. That was the reason he had been chosen for this mission, the most important mission of this entire scouting campaign. And that was the reason that Javier could not pick someone else, someone who did not make his body clench with desire, someone who did not make him wake up in the middle of the night with an erection that just wouldn’t quit, someone who didn’t make Javier feel like he might explode every time they were close to one another...

Tobias was the best person for this job.

Whether Javier liked it or not.

Guest Author - April Andrews and THE HUNT

Welcome April Andrews back to my blog.  She's here sharing a bit of her recent release, The Hunt.

In a post-apocalyptic world, the only way to stay alive is to join a crew, and the only way to do that is to survive the hunt…

Ryo Ishikawa has survived for years on his own, living on the edges of what used to be the city of Tokyo. But when his beautiful sister, Kirei, returns home, Ryo knows that the two of them won’t make it alone. The only option is to join a crew, and the biggest, baddest of them all are the Owari.

The Owari, however, have a gruelling initiation process. If Ryo wants to be accepted by them he will have to not only make it to the end of the hunt, but also impress his hunter, Hikaru… and Hikaru is not an easy male to impress. He will expect more than just strength and guile from Ryo… he will expect complete submission…

“Thank you, Hikaru,” he whispered.

And his words did something, something Ryo did not expect, maybe Hikaru did, Ryo didn’t know. But in an instant something changed between them. Or did it simply click into place? Ryo wasn’t sure, but suddenly Hikaru was standing right in front of him, looking down, his eyes burning.

“You can thank me better than that,” he said and the next thing Ryo knew he was being pulled into Hikaru’s arms.

Ryo let it happen. He looked up. He locked eyes with Hikaru. And he knew it was coming before it even did.

They wrapped their arms around one another and then Hikaru was pressing his lips onto Ryo’s. He kissed Ryo with the fierceness that Ryo would always have expected from him. With a fierceness that Ryo knew then that he needed. He was too strong for anything less. Hikaru knew that.

And so, they kissed, and minutes passed, and the wind whipped around them, and when they pulled apart it was clear that everything had changed.

“I’ve wanted to do that from the first moment I saw you,” Hikaru said.

Ryo’s cock was aching in his pants. It had never ached in such a way before. He wanted his hunter. There was no escaping that now. And hadn’t he known it from the first? Deep down? Hadn’t he, in some way, recognized the shivers for what they were?

“Hikaru...” he whispered.

Hikaru dropped a kiss on his head. “You taste like Nashi.”

“I didn’t expect—” Ryo said, but his words were silenced when Hikaru kissed him again.

Ryo felt the other man’s erection press against him as their tongues touched. The very prospect of that made him ache all the more harder.

“I didn’t expect it either,” Hikaru said as they eventually pulled apart. “But this is where we are and this is what is happening.” He paused. “We just have to work out what the hell we’re going to do now.”

Guest Author: April Andrews and Melt for the Millionaire

Welcome April Andrews back to my blog.  She's here today to share a bit of her recent release, Melt for the Millionaire.

A year ago Cae Larkin had the world at his feet. A successful model for some of the biggest brands in the world, nothing seemed out of his reach. But one mistake cost Cae dearly and he lost everything as quickly as he gained it.

Now, with his bank balance approaching zero, and the threat of eviction looming, Cae needs money and he needs it fast. But, there’s only one person who can help him…and it’s someone that Cae rejected a very long time ago. Someone who, if he wants to get back on top, he will not be able to reject again…

Nicholas couldn’t quite believe that Cae was in his bedroom. He had fantasized so many times about this exact scenario and now that it was actually here, he didn’t quite know what to do.

He stood at the door, watching as Cae explored the space where, if Nicholas had his way, Cae would be spending a significant portion of his time. He looked over the bed, touched the soft sheets on it, walked across to the windows, ran his finger across the potted plants growing there. His gaze travelled to the walk in wardrobe, across to the en-suite, and then finally circled back around to Nicholas.

He was still wearing the jeans and sweater Nicholas had met him in and he looked achingly beautiful. Nicholas couldn’t wait to hold him in his arms and do all of the things that he had imagined for so long. And yet, he was nervous, ridiculously so. Eighteen long months of waiting for the male that you craved would do that to you he guessed.

“What are you thinking?” he asked.

Cae shrugged one lean shoulder before shooting a quick look at the bed. “I’m nervous,” he said.

“Of me?” Nicholas asked.

“A little,” Cae admitted. “But also of what we’re going to do.”

“And what are we going to do?” Nicholas asked.

Cae bit down on his bottom lip. It was so plump. How many billboards had those lips been on? Parted on a soft sigh? Making females, and males too for that matter, sigh also.

“You said that we’re going to...”

“Fuck?”

He bit harder. “Yes.”

“Then come here,” Nicholas demanded. “And I can promise that those nerves will be gone before you know it.”

Cae walked over to him—his steps hesitant. Nicholas pulled him into his arms the moment he was in reach. And then, he did the thing that he had waited so very long to do. He bent his head and he kissed Cae.

It was their first kiss.

Their very first.

And it was worth the wait in every possible way. Cae’s soft lips opened beneath Nicholas, they tasted of mint and of sweetness, and Nicholas plundered them completely. He kissed and he kissed, his lips moving in a constant rhythm, and before long his head was spinning and his cock straining against his pants.

“What you do to me,” he whispered.
