Bears and Bears and Bears, oh my...

I know there have been a lot of emails asking about bringing back more bears or adding to the Bears in Bondage Series.

I am listening!  I have a new Bear story coming up the pipe.  I've been asked to participate in a new line and I've got something cooking.

So, don't be distraught.  Bears are coming.  And I might even tie them into Bears in Bondage...wait and see!

Q & A with Kelex

I just noticed a couple of comments I somehow missed recently -- and I've also had a few emailed to me recently, so I'm going to answer them here (and I answered the comments, too, for those of you who placed them -- sorry I just noticed!)

1.  Are there any more books coming in the Wolves of Mt Alexis Series?  No...er...maybe.  Right now, the answer is no, but White Wolf is still at the back of my mind.  He's been standing there moping for quite a while now, refusing to leave without his story being told.  But I'm struggling with his character.  I'm on the fence as to if he's an alpha or a beta wolf. 

I'm still considering a Lion series.  Aris' character was just too hot to ignore.  And a reader suggested an Aris/White Wolf pairing -- which is the reason for me being on the fence.  I'd seen WW as an alpha until that email, which sort of blew my mind at the thought of that coupling.  And WW suddenly bent in my mind and became a beta.  So -- I'm at a stand-still there.  So fans of the series -- what are your thoughts?  White Wolf on his own, or as Aris' lover?  Or do you even want more Wolves/Lions at all?

2.  Is Wynne the last book in the Quads series?  No...er...maybe.  (LOL, I'm terrible at making decisions!)  The plan was for five books, but Wynne's story hasn't sold as well as the first two, so it makes me wonder if interest in the series has waned.  I don't want to tell tales no one really wants to read.  Would you guys rather see new stories, or should I bring Scottson and Peterson's stories as originally planned?  How about you tell me what you want?

3.  Will there be another Bears in Bondage book?  No...err...maybe?  (See a pattern here?)  There was a final book planned, but the series sort of tanked sales-wise, so I assumed few were really interested in more.  At this late stage in the game, I think that ship has sailed.  Although, I have been asked to join a couple of my TEP authors in a new antho idea this spring and my gut reaction was to brush off Bears and give them a last hurrah.  That isn't written in stone!!

4.  Will there be another Master's New Toy book?  I had an idea for the first half of the book, but nothing hit me for the conclusion.  Other ideas drew me away from my original series, and I haven't really looked back.  It's highly doubtful I'd go back to the Master's series at this stage in the game.

5.  Where are you going next?  The Sci-Fi/Menage titles seem to be what's hot right now and demand is high, but at heart, I really prefer my paranormal shifters.  I want to write the stories people want to read, but at the same time, I need to write what I enjoy, too, or it'll just end up being forced dreck.  I'm trying to find the balance between the two and hopefully get out titles you'll enjoy.  I just finished The Whorehouse Oracle, which will be out Jan 15th, and there is one more Whorehouse title coming after that.  And I'll be pondering Scottson and Peterson for Quad tales, but to be honest, it feels sort of flat.  Next on my agenda is a dragon shifter MM trilogy and then I'm toying with a Bear shifter series to come in early spring as well as a futuristic/historical mash-up, unless the muse pulls me elsewhere.

Writing Update - August 2013

August isn't here yet, but the book I'm currently working on most likely won't hit the sites until the first week of August at the earliest.  I figured I'd give everyone a head's up on what's coming next, in no particular order, except for the first one (Crash) which is the one I'm working on now.

Crash Landing is a new alien series.  It will be my first MMMM where all the men are the primary characters and not just secondary characters brought into the mix.  It will be interesting to see how it all plays out and all the emotions in that large a group.  A challenge, indeed, but one I'm up for.

A new futuristic short/novella is in the works.  I'm very excited about it and have already written most of the first chapter.  Once Crash Landing is done, it seems logical to finish it up, but I really want to get to work on...

Theo's Wolf, which will be a merging of Wolf and Cat shifters.  Theo is really screaming at me to get started, so I'll more than likely go there when I finish Crash.

And lastly, Bears in Bondage V & VI.  This will finish up the tale and wrap it up.  It will also be the last set of stories I do in serial form, as many readers have said they didn't like the format.

I also have another short alien series planned, and if time this month, I'll tackle that.  Since Crash will more than likely be written by the end of July, I hope to have enough time.

Writing Update - Mid July

It's been a busy last couple of weeks.  Here's a quick update.

1.  Slave World IV:  The Return is now available at Smashwords and All Romance.  It should be available later today at Amazon.  This is the final in the series, but it has helped spur on a brand new short series which I will start working on in August.  Anyone up for a trip to Planet X?  You'll get that once you read it :)

2.  Bears in Bondage has been up for sale for the last week or so.  If you
haven't grabbed the second set in the tale, you are definitely missing out.  MUCH hotter than the first, with a lot more toy play as Bastian digs deep into his available BDSM gear to really rock Cole's world.

3.  I'm about halfway done with Rafe's Wolf, which will hopefully be coming in the next week or so.  It will help tie up the loose ends from Remy's Wolf and show a little insight into the fourth brother, Mitch, who we really didn't
meet in the first book.


4.  His Milk Maid is now available at All Romance.  I had plans for another in this series, but it's just not gelling.  I've not given up hope, as I have about five thousand words written, but the vibe just isn't coming together.  It will be shelved for now.

5.  Once Rafe's story is told, I will start working on Crash Landing, a new alien series.  Centered on human astronauts who have crashed into an unexplored alien world, it will feature MMMM groups along with domination and submission.  I'm very excited to start this series.  I hope to have the first book late July, early August.

I just finished the rough draft of the next installments of Bears in Bondage and OMG are these stories HOT!  I don't want to give the details away, but we have voyeurism, lots of bondage/discipline play, and even some mechanical toy use, along with a lot of hot encounters between these two lovers.  And it isn't all sex...the two men start realizing just how much they care for one another as well.

I'll walk away from it today and get back to edits tomorrow and hopefully get it to my editor soon after that.

And hopefully (fingers crossed) have it out next week.

Here's a little part of one of the early scenes (unedited!):

Bastian stretched his body closer to Cole’s and groaned as he felt Cole was as hard as he was.  “Looks like it may be a great morning.”

Cole smiled wider and leaned up to plant a kiss on Bastian’s lips.  The gentle embrace soon took a turn for the hotter, deepening thanks to Bastian’s insistence.  He got no fight from Cole, who seemed eager to let Bastian push him into more.  Cole was new to the leather and BDSM world and it was up to Bastian to train his new submissive into the role expected of him.  But Bastian was worried he would push his lover too far if he forged ahead too quickly.  He planned to ease Cole into his world, tempting the man with little bites of pain mixed with intense pleasure.

Bastian leaned in closer as he kissed Cole, their tongues warring together as Bastian readied to make his move.  He jumped from the bed as quickly as possible and had Cole over his shoulder in a heartbeat.  Cole let out a cry as he hung precariously over Bastian’s body, his head a few feet from the floor.  Bastian had full access to Cole’s naked ass beside his mouth, so he reached over and took a bite of his lover’s flesh.

 

“What’re you doing?” Cole cried out.

“We need to go to the playroom for your training to really begin,” Bastian stated matter-of-factly.  He stalked across his bedroom and into the hall, kicking the playroom door open with his foot.  Bastian walked to the leather bed and dropped Cole into the center before jumping on top of him and pinning him to the bed.  As he rekindled their kiss, he felt Cole softening again after several minutes and forgetting where they were.  Bastian leaned in to deepen the kiss further and secretly reached for the leather cuffs at the edge of the mattress.  He had one of Cole’s wrists pinned before his lover even had a chance to realize what was happening.

“Bastian …” Cole whispered breathily as he gazed at his bound wrist.

Bastian smiled as he rolled to the other side of the bed while holding Cole’s unbound wrist.  He quickly had his young lover tied to the bed, breathing hard through his parted lips.  “You were made for bondage, Cole.”

Writing Update - July 2013

So what can you expect in July?

Here's what I'm working on now:

1.  Bears in Bondage Book 3 & 4 - I know I took a little detour by jumping into the final Duke tale, but I wanted to wrap up that story and call it complete.  Bastian and Cole are the next on the agenda, trust me.  As soon as I finish this blog post, I will be returning to their world to get some more words in.  I've just started, so not far into it yet, but I do have the story plotted out and it's ready to go.

2.  Rafe's Wolf - I've already plotted and written the opening scene.  Rafe is screaming at me to forget Bastian and Cole and write his story, but I really do need to give B&C their due first.  Rafe won't wait long.

3.  Slave World 4 -- This will be the finale for Thomas and Valyr.  Can't wait to wrap this storyline up.

4.  The final Duke tale was actually supposed to happen in July but I got ahead of schedule.  Sooo ... I'm toying with the idea of writing another story for Natascha.  The first tale hadn't done all that well, so I didn't want to focus on a story no one seemed interested in reading.  But as the months go on, it's becoming the little engine that could and my blog post about His Milk Maid is getting a lot of hits on here, so seems people are looking for His Milk Maid 3 & 4.  I prefer writing m/m, so this story is a little harder for me, given that there isn't any m/m in the storyline.  But then again, perhaps her ex, Michael, and his new master need to run into her in a sex club somewhere and make it REALLY interesting.  Talk about fireworks.  Well, it is July.

5.  I'll also be looking at bringing The Duke's Plaything Complete Collection to print.  The Master's series hasn't done all that well in print, so perhaps it's just for me to put on my shelf. 

What's coming up later this summer?  The finale to the Bears series, the third in the Wolves series, a new short series which takes place in space--Planet X to be exact, and a new shifter series.  In the fall, I'll be introducing another Historical series, which will also have a paranormal vibe, go to the desert, and then maybe behind bars.

In other words, there is a lot more to come.  A LOT.  So, keep checking in to see about new releases.

Slave World Part 3 Coming Soon

I just finished writing the rough draft for Slave World Part 3.  I'll spend some time in the coming days cleaning and polishing it up before sending it to my editor.

So, it will more than likely see the light of day within the next week or so.  Keep your eyes peeled.

And as soon as that one is done, the next Bear installment is raring to go.  But then Rafe is screaming at me to write his story instead, so not sure which one will win out.

Battle to the death -- Bastian versus Ty.  Who wins?  I'm leaning toward Ty.

Especially since I see our cop, Rafe, sitting in that sitsling, bound and ready for Ty's abuse.  I mean, who can ignore THAT?

So, not sure...we'll see who's story screams the loudest when the time comes.

Bears in Bondage Coming Tomorrow!

Bears in Bondage was just sent to Amazon, so it should be ready in the next twelve hours or so. 

Here's the blurb:

After an amazing night and morning of passion and pain, Bastian learns Cole needs a job and offers him a position at the sex shop, where Bastian can keep him close … and maybe do some quality control on the new toys that come in.

Bears in Bondage is coming soon -- within the next day or two -- so I've set up another fun show and tell for the story.

First off -- what is a bear?  No, it isn't a bear shifter in this tale.  The bear community is filled with large men who are hairy and many prefer to dress in leather.  A muscle bear is a very muscular bear.  Here's a great picture of a muscle bear and his "cub."

Bears in Bondage is set in either the sex shop which shares the title's name or in the owner's play room, which is tricked out with lots of fun toys he brings in.  I got a lot of my ideas from scoping out the Mr. S Leather website, which I will tell you now is SOOOO NSFW.  This site is pretty explicit, so you have been warned.

When I write a piece that uses a lot of BDSM gear or sex toys, I like to post pictures of those items so you won't get lost.  Sometimes seeing an item you're unfamiliar with makes the mental picture comes together in an aahhhhhhh moment. (At least it's helped my wonderful editor at times, so I figured it can help the reader, too.)

To start Bears in Bondage, I started off slow.  In the stories to come, I'll be adding more pictures because the fun stuff is coming, trust me.

Fortunately, the fine folks at Mr. S Leather have agreed to let me use pictures from their site, which was awesome of them and allows me not to break any copyright laws or piss anyone off.  Well, I still may piss other people off, but not the important ones.

 Now bare with me for a minute -- I had to step out of Mr S's world for the next two.  I struggled to find what I was really looking for.

But here's what I was thinking for that -- only on a larger scale.  Just imagine that's a hot guy bound there.  (Sorry, was only pic I could find that really illustrated where I was going!)

And size-wise, it is more like this.  Of course, with man on man action.

And a paddle is just that -- a paddle.  But there's a ton of different kinds to choose from.

That about sums up Books 1 & 2.  There will be a lot more fun coming for future stories as Bastian gets to try out items he's been eyeing for the past couple of months.  

Not One, But Two New Series ...

Yes you read that right!  I have two new series coming to you soon. 

 

The first, Bears in Bondage, is set in the muscle bear community and is about a sex shop owner who meets a down on his luck ex-Army college student.  He gives the young man a job in one of his shops and has fun trying out the new products he gets shipped in.  Talk about some quality control!  The first draft of this tale is already in my editor's hands and will be coming very, very soon.

 

The second series is Wolves of Mt. Alexis.  Inspired from a fan who loves shifter tales, I took a seedling of an idea I had and let it go sooner than

anticipated.  The first tale is Remy's Wolf.  Remy finds himself in hot water and a large timber wolf comes to his aid.  He's shocked to find the wolf's not a wolf at all but a man.  And he's even more surprised when he finds out he's that wolf's mate.  Hank claims him in the most savage way and Remy's going to love every minute of it.  I've just started writing this tale and it should see publication sometime in June/July 2013.

Bears in Bondage -- Coming Soon

Bears in Bondage is the new series I'm working on.  And no, it isn't a shifter tale, as I was recently asked, but is focused on the "bear" gay subculture.

A "bear" is a furry man, ie - heavy beard or facial hair and lots of body hair.  The bears in my story can also be classified as "musclebears" - men who are extremely muscular and hairy.  These men are also often older and some enjoy younger men, or "cubs".   Here's a great picture of a musclebear and his cub so you can see what I mean.

Leather and BDSM often take a strong role in the bear world, so it just felt like a great direction to head in with a new series.

I know I said the next Duke book was on the block, ready to write, but this story just took over my imagination and I wanted to get it on paper.  Book One is now complete.  I just wrote The End this morning.  Off to go start Book 2 now.  I'm aiming for the end of May, first of June for a release, so keep your eyes peeled!
